If you are on our email list, are friends with me on facebook, or obsessively follow what we are doing from our webpage - you will have noticed that the Speaker's office released a report on their progress with youth issues.
This is actually a VERY COOL development. The fact that our leaders are acknowledging how important we are to this country AND doing something about it can only be a good thing. No longer are we stuck with a Congress that only cares about the wealthy, corporations, seniors, and has no problem giving us a bunch of lip service.
We think it is important for young people to realize exactly how much the Dems have done for them this year - and the progress report is a great way to show them.
So - go check out the progress report … and then help us thank the Dems for all they've done for us!
We have a virtual "thank you card" that we are collecting sigs on - check it out at www.yda.org/thankyou. You'll see pics on the blog soon when we deliver the thank yous (with your personal notes) to the Democratic leadership next week.
Also - we have a facebook group doing the same thing - go check it out too.

Given the horrendous performance of the Senate this week – on Habeas Corpus, on the war, on the censure of MoveOn – this campaign seems ill-timed, at best.
Did anyone at YDA have a discussion – maybe we should hold this campaign off for a couple of weeks?
when i received the email i wondered how the decision was made to send the email at that particular time. i replied asking these same questions. but i assume you received a lot of replies in a similar vein.
what has been the feedback from membership? and can you address the question of how the decision was made to start this campaign given what’s going on on the hill?
Reply to bbondEh, so I get a tiny reduction in my student loan payments. In return, the Constitution gets stomped on and my friends stay in Iraq forever and ever. That’s not exactly a bargain I’m gonna write a thank you letter for.
Reply to DanHonestly, maybe you should get off the blogs and start organizing and being pro-active to end the war rather than bitching on a blog. Thanks.
