Yes, there were elections yesterday! And Young Democrats across the country helped elect candidates up and down the ballot, in red and blue states.
In Kentucky, the Young Democrats of America partnered with the Young Democrats of Kentucky for a Young Voter Revolution campaign, focused on young voters in the Louisville area. With a tony budget and just a few weeks to pull it all together, YDs contacted nearly 3,000 voters, helping to secure an overwhelming victory for Governor-elect Steve Beshear. Virginia and New Jersey held important state legislative races, with Democrats re-gaining the State Senate. Young Dems were actively engaged in races across both states.
Disturbingly, Young Democrats at Georgia Southern University faced voter intimidation before and on Election Day. Young Dems are fighting back to protect the voting rights of students in Georgia and you can learn more on their website.

Most importantly, we saw that momentum is with the Democrats for change in 2008. Democrats are speaking to issues people — all people, regardless of age — care about and are taking action to change the direction of our country and improve the lives of average Americans.
