What are you going to be doing August 28, while Obama is giving his acceptance speech? It’s one of two things: (1) living the high life in Denver, rubbing elbows with the leading (and not so leading) lights of the Democratic Party, attending lavish receptions and kick-ass Rock the Whatever concerts; or (2) sitting around at home feeling sorry for yourself since you aren’t doing (1).
It doesn’t have to be this way! With the YDA’s Convention Watch Parties you don’t have to be in Denver to have a good time. Go online to www.yda.org/conventionwatch/search to find an event or www.yda.org/conventionwatch/host to set up your own Convention Watch Party. These parties are happening across the country, on the night of Barack’s speech, August 28. We are going to get together, have fun, and celebrate the historic moment.
These parties are also a great chance to build our movement. Our generation is too savy to be taken in by glossy mailings or slick TV ads, so the best way to spread the word about the Democrats is to be fun and genuine. These parties provide a great venue for some peer to peer communication. At www.yda.org/conventionwatch/resources you can find some resources that we have created to help you make your party a success.
If you have any questions about the parties, shoot us an email at conventionwatch@yda.org.
