Over the last two weeks, the fight to pass a federal budget that works for America has heated up and will be a tough fight for us to win.  As special interest groups including private student lending companies mount a well financed attack on students, President Obama and his proposal to renew America’s promise ensues everything we do will make a difference.  Just this morning, Sallie Mae called United States Student Association’s President, Carmen Berkley, trying to get us to cooperate with them.  This is a clear sign that our organizing is making the other side nervous.

Don’t wait any longer; send a letter to Congress to stand with students, not Sallie Mae and others!

TODAY, Tuesday, April 21st, 2009 young people across America will unite to call on Congress to do what is right for our country.  We will ask them to pass the federal budget and step away from the pressure of these loan companies and stand with President Obama and America in investing in our future.

WE NEED YOU to stand ready to make phone calls and get your peers, family and friends to make phone calls  as well.  Below is a sample call in day script with the phone number to your member of Congress!

HOW TO CALL:
Dial (888) 299-1447 to be connected to your Members of Congress.
