President Obama is hitting the road again to speak to communities about the importance of health insurance reform in America. One of his first stops will be to speak to young people, like you, at the University of Maryland this Thursday morning!

President Obama has asked YDA to invite the Young Democrats to attend this town hall meeting and rally. We are sending over 1000 young Democrats to hear directly from the President about why we need health insurance reform now. If you will be in the area, it is not too late to RSVP.
But even if you aren’t in Maryland, you can help by watching the town hall with friends to make sure they know why reform is urgently needed. Young Democrats in Kentucky, Michigan, Arizona, Texas, Minnesota, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Massachusetts, and all over the country have already committed to tune in and make sure they understand why health insurance reform is important for all Americans.

Conservative pundits claim that the 10 million young people with no health care coverage, choose not to have it. We know that young Americans, like the vast majority of the uninsured, simply cannot afford even basic coverage. (NEW PARAGRAPH) Shares in health insurance companies rose dramatically yesterday on the New York Stock Exchange after Baucus announced this new and wonderful piece of legislation.
(NEW PARAGRAPH) I’m an Obama supporter, but if the President lets Congress pass THAT bill, we all will have to ask, “What in the WORLD is he thinking?”
