Check out Politico's story (with a quote from yours truly) about the Rasmussen poll (which we posted a few days ago) and the 32-point gap for Congressional Dems.
Did you know that in 31 states, your boss can legally fire you or your friends simply because of your sexual orientation? Additionally, in 39 states, you can legally be fired just because of your gender identity.
Thousands of hardworking Americans have lost their livelihoods, been passed up for promotions they deserved, or were not hired for jobs they are qualified for, simply because of who they are and who they love.
It is shocking to people our age - the most diverse and tolerant generation in American history - that these type of exclusionary, bigoted, and unfair practices are still happening in our country in the first place. It is even more shocking that, in most states, there are no laws saying they can't.
Right now, we have an opportunity to help ensure employment protections for all Americans, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity by supporting important legislation about to be voted on in Congress.
The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) addresses discrimination in the work place by making it illegal to fire, refuse to hire, or refuse to promote an employee simply because of his or her sexual orientation or gender identity.
Please write your representatives in Washington today urging them to not only support ENDA - but to oppose any efforts to weaken the bill by modifying any of the protections, or stripping out the protections for transgender Americans.
Together, working with the Democratic majorities in the House and Senate that our generation swept into power, we can put an end to LGBT workplace discrimination.
So what are you waiting for? Go to www.yda.org/enda to take action right now and get your friends to do the same!
If your chapter is interested in hosting an event in your community or on your campus in support of ENDA, send an email to tcani@yda.org for talking points and some action ideas.
The latest Rasmussen Report gives Democrats a 32 POINT ADVANTAGE among young voters on a generic congressional match-up. Democrats garner 62% support among voters under 30 while Republicans have a measely 30% support.
This upswing comes as no surprise to those who follow youth politics, as young voters have steadily increased their support for congressional Democrats 10 points over the last 9 years.

It makes me feel old to admit this, but I do remember the Clarence Thomas confirmation hearings, where Anita Hill was subjected to sexist and racist questioning about her assertion that now-Justice Thomas sexually harassed her.
Clarence Thomas has written an autobiography and the media attention surrounding it has stirred up these fires again. In today's New York Times, Anita Hill fights back and stands by her testimony, all the while defending others who have been smeared when coming forward with allegations that might make some uncomfortable.
To that I say, go Anita. Keep standing tall and know that a little girl's mom made her watch your testimony and discuss it at the dinner table and it helped shape her current political views.
