Hey everyone! I'm writing to you from Louisville, KY where YDA and the Kentucky Young Democrats are working together to run one of our Young Voter Revolution turnout campaigns.
Over the past few weeks a committed crew of volunteers have been knocking on doors in heavily youth neighborhoods of Louisville, heading out to bars and coffee shops where young people hang out, and using facebook and the internet to get young people to not only pledge their votes to Kentucky Democrats - but to then turn out, and bring their friends and family with them.
Last night, thankful that some intense rain had finally stopped, a crew of us did a midnight lit drop in our top targetted precints. To check out the lit we are using, click READ MORE below.
This is an important election for the Commonwealth of Kentucky - there is a big opportunity here to not only put a good Democrat in the Governor's mansion, but to lay the ground work for successful Democratic efforts at all levels in 2008.
Today, we are asking folks who have voted in Kentucky to change their profile picture on facebook or myspace to the graphic below!

I you aren't in Kentucky and voted, use this graphic instead!
It is a little thing, a virtual I voted sticker on your profile, but it is a great way for us to visually and non-intrusively remind our friends to vote today (and who to vote for).
Oh yeah — and don't feel bad about getting a little intrusive! Call all your friends on your cell, message everyone you are friends with on facebook and myspace, do that annoying mass IM thing … and ask your friends to get to the polls today and cast their ballots for Democrats!
