The Young Democrats of America (YDA) API Caucus is focusing on uniting young AANHPI (Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander) Democrats into a united force. Although there’s a lot of attention given to AANHPI Democrats in office, we also want to highlight AANHPI leaders bringing YDA values into their line of work: from the picket line to rural organizing to the nonprofit sector, AANHPI leaders are doing their part to build a more progressive future for all of us. This year, AANHPI Democrats organized hard in Virginia and New Jersey and the API Caucus seeks to support AANHPI Democrats for the midterms next year. Additionally, because our caucus is made up of members who have run and/or serve in office, we hope to encourage API Caucus members to run for office through meetings, workshops, and events.
