Isaac Kaufer
Eastern Vice President
Brief info
Isaac Kaufer currently serves as the Eastern Region Vice President for the Young Democrats of America. In this role, he works to advance YDA’s mission of training and electing more young people, increasing youth engagement in the electoral process, and strengthening this vital wing of the Democratic Party across Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Democrats Abroad.
Isaac brings a wealth of experience in organizing and campaigning to this role. In 2024, he helped craft a mobilization program for rural Black voters in Georgia and North Carolina, which featured a radio ad with the voice and words of Yusef Salaam of the Exonerated Five. In addition, Isaac was physically on the ground in Lackawanna, PA in the leadup to the 2024 election, receiving hundreds of volunteers from all over the Northeast and equipping them with the tools to be successful canvassers in one of the swingiest areas of a swing state. Prior to 2024, you could find Isaac engaging voters in the pivotal 2021 Georgia Senate runoffs, aiding numerous congressional elections from across the nation (from Montana to Florida to Maine), serving as Field Director for Mara Dolan’s campaign for Governor’s Council in Massachusetts, and taking on many other projects.
Beyond his organizing work, Isaac is also an accomplished fundraiser. In 2024 alone, he raised over $500,000 for congressional candidates in the most competitive districts across the country, including California’s 13th and 45th districts, where Democrats unseated incumbent Republicans by 187 and 653 votes, respectively. On top of that, he raised over $40,000 for Democrats running in the most competitive districts in the Pennsylvania state house, a chamber that Democrats now control by the slimmest of margins, 102-101.
Back in his home state of Massachusetts, Isaac serves as the Treasurer of the Young Democrats of Massachusetts (YDMA), overseeing the expansion of the finance committee and developing innovative fundraising strategies to support caucuses and regional chapters. He also chairs the YDMA Jewish Caucus, coordinating events with elected Jewish officials across the Commonwealth and organizing within the Jewish community to support Democratic causes and candidates.
When he’s not actively campaigning, Isaac dives into electoral data on his Twitter mapping account, @DemHackMaps, where he visualizes and analyzes precinct-level results, shifts, trends, turnout, and more. One of Isaac’s maps was even featured in a campaign ad for a Pennsylvania congressional race that turned out to be among the tightest in the nation.
Outside of politics, Isaac enjoys rec sports, crosswords, board games, burritos, videogames, Sabrina Carpenter, rolling in his Heelys, playing with animals, attending championship parades, and ballroom dancing with his girlfriend.
